Proceeds from the 46th Annual Mercy Ball will help bring life-saving technology to Scripps Mercy Hospitals San Diego and Chula Vista. On the San Diego campus, trauma physicians and neurosurgeons are in need of an image-guided surgery system, the intraoperative CT scanner which creates unmatched surgical vision and precise pictures of the injury during complex brain, spine, and trauma operations. This state-of-the-art technology provides immediate images on the extent of traumatic head and spine injury, so quick swift surgical action can be taken. On the Chula Vista campus, emergency room physicians are seeking support for to re-engineer the Triage Center of the emergency department with critical equipment and capital improvements to better serve their patients with life limiting injuries and illnesses.
Mercy Ball net proceeds will benefit the Scripps Mercy San Diego Trauma Center’s purchase of the intraoperative CT scanner (iCT) with the remainder of the proceeds to benefit the Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista Emergency Department capital fund for the Triage Center remodel.
